 What does SMS mean? |
Short Message Service. This is also known as Text Messaging.
 How does it work? |
You send a text message from your mobile phone to another mobile phone. The message leaves your phone in data format, travels through your provider's gateway, and is sent to the receiving persons mobile via the same process, mirrored.
 How much will SMS cost me? |
This varies according to whether you have a pre-pay or subscription based mobile phone. You need to check with the network concerned: Orange, Virgin Mobile, T-Mobile/One2One, Vodafone, O2/Cellnet.
 Does my provider charge for me to receive messages? |
Check with Orange, Virgin Mobile, T-Mobile/One2One, Vodafone, O2/Cellnet.
 Which network is this number on? |
Orange.
 Which number should I send Reroute Commands to? |
+447779700000 in the UK or when raoming abroad. Your Mobile User Guide will explain how to dial the GSM standard international prefix "+". If your find out how then in the UK you can use 07779700000 instead, but remember that this will not work when roaming.
 Do I make the FleXtel Gateway my Message Centre number? |
No. The FleXtel Gateway is only used for reroute commands.
 Can this number be used for voice / fax / data calls? |
No.
 Is the service chargeable? |
No, but you may have to pay your Mobile Service Provider to send the message. For more information see the SMS Reroute User Guide.
 How do I get the # (hash/pound) key on my Handset? |

You should receive a return receipt from your network. This receipt confirms that the message has been delivered.
 How do I know if my message was correctly formatted? |
FleXtel will send you an error message if there is a problem processing your request.
 Can you help me if my handset is not sending / receiving text messages? |
No. Contact your handset or airtime provider.
 Is SMS the same as WAP? |
No. WAP means Wireless Application Protocol. WAP is a method of browsing the web from your mobile.
 Can I send text messages to a FleXtel Number? |
Not at this time. FleXtel is hoping to deliver this as soon as practicable.
