Activate your FleXtel number
You will have your FleXtel number up and running in minutes by:
Reroute your FleXtel number
The FleXtel system supports three powerful alternative methods to control your
number:
Any Phone or Mobile - Reroute from any phone by calling 0870 321 0000.
- Key in your full FleXtel number.
- Key in your selected PIN.
- Key in the phone number of your new destination and listen to the confirmation message.
- If the number heard is correct then press 1 and WAIT a few seconds until you hear "Your reroute request has been sent"
- Hang up - that's it!
Mobile - Reroute by sending a mobile text message to FleXtel's SMS Reroute Gateway. This is quick, simple and works brilliantly in very poor radio coverage. It also is very cost effective when roaming abroad.
Internet - Just logon to either the Reroute & Number Control Screen or, for the ultimate in number control, the Account Screen.

Directory Listing
You can have a free entry into the BT phonebook by completing our directory listing form.:
If you select a "Business" entry then this information can be advertised in a number of business directories, completely free of charge. If you do not complete this form your FleXtel number will automatically be "ex-directory". For more information see our FAQ section.
Special Phone Commands |
Speed Dial/Memory Locations
This feature allows you to store your most commonly used phone numbers into
8 memory locations. To try this feature just enter your new destination
phone number, wait and you will be prompted with option 3 to store the number
you have just entered into a memory location from 1 to 8.
Just follow the
simple instructions and anytime in the future when you need to route your
FleXtel number to that phone, just key in the speed dial location number (1 to 8) followed by #, instead of the full destination phone
number, e.g. 1#.
Tip: Ignore
the number confirmation for even faster follow me and speed dial connection
by pressing 1 immediately after # e.g. 0#1, 1#1, …..8#1.
Only do this if you are sure of your speed dial memory locations.
Alternatively, Login to your Account. Once you're logged in, select LABEL & MEMORY EDIT from the drop down menu. You can now review and save your favourite destinations with ease. These memories can also be used in conjunction with FNP.
Route
Here/Follow Me
FleXtel's "Follow Me" feature means you can easily route your FleXtel
numbers to your phone, even if you don't know its number. Just call into the
FleXtel rerouting system as normal, log-in with your FleXtel number and PIN
and then key 0# in place of the destination phone number. The FleXtel
system then reads your phone number, if it is permitted to release it.
Tip: To force release of the number from your phone if you are on BT, dial 1470 then
0870 321 0000.
Alternatively if you want to route your number to your mobile then it is quicker and cheaper to use the SMS Reroute Gateway, especially if your are outside the UK as text messaging charges are very low even when abroad.
PIN Change
In place of the destination number, key in "##55" to change
your PIN and follow the simple instructions. Your PIN can be 4 to 6 digits
long and will be updated automatically, in seconds.
Alternatively, Logon FleXtel's web rerouting page or the SMS Reroute Gateway to update PIN at any time day or night.

What is the Difference between Password & PINs?
The Account introduces a Password that can be made up of numbers and letters
of up to 40 characters long. This Password protects the Account.
The traditional FleXtel PIN protects an individual number and allows the User to reroute and control one number only. The PIN User cannot get access to any personal account information. The PIN uses up to 6 numbers only so that ordinary tone phones (that cannot handle letters) can be used to command reroutes. Most users find the PIN reroute method a fast and convenient way to change one number.
For corporate managers and major system control applications, the Account and Password is typically used to reroute a group of numbers at the same time. It is also used to override and change the User's PIN in certain circumstances.
PIN and Password Security
Although your 4 to 6 number PIN gives you reasonable security, your password is
more secure because it can be made up of any of the following characters:
a-z or 0-9 or @
or - or .
or _
Your PIN can be between 4 and 40
characters long, but it is best not to use words that are found in the dictionary.
Also, for extra security, try to include numbers as well as letters in your password.
